Most people can’t believe it when they discover that Earth and Images has been in business since 1992; but it is true that for almost twenty years our store has been providing beautiful and unique home furnishings to the Valley and beyond.

I am more familiar with its history from 2001, when Vilma Besch, who was owner at the time, approached me to do freelance display for her. I was working full-time as an assistant to Harold Foust at the wonderful lifestyle store Pleasantries—and I embraced this great opportunity to “do my own thing!” And do it, I did! Those Sunday merchandising reworks remain some of my fondest memories. I loved the physicality and the freedom she allowed me. It is where the principles and techniques I learned at Pleasantries evolved, and I developed my own personal style of retail merchandising.

In 2007, Vilma wanted to retire, and through an unexpected web of life and work connections, I landed exactly where I was supposed to be…as the new owner of Earth and Images. Our similar approach to design and my familiarity with the client base made the transition relatively seamless.

It is with great joy that I direct Earth and Images evolution in tune with the ever-changing world of design and taste. Creativity and the aspiration for beauty cannot be crushed by a lackluster economy. We continue to sparkle, shine and grow!! I am looking forward to providing our patrons special items that bring them happiness, fulfillment and joy for years to come.
